5 Ways to Organize Your Laundry Room

5 Ways to Organize Your Laundry Room

It’s where dirt goes to die and linens emerge refreshed. It can also be one of the most chaotic places in your home. Laundry rooms are famously disorganized, but you don’t have to live in the fray. Here are five simple tips to help you clear the clutter.

1) Colour Code

Have three laundry hampers: one for whites, one for colours and one for darks. Presorting with this simple method can save you loads of time when it’s time to actually wash. Make sure everyone in your house understands the system.

2) Change Jar

We’re always coming across forgotten funds in our pockets. By having a change jar, you can prevent yourself from losing it again while also setting up a little collection. To keep the jar out of the way, put it in a cabinet or mount it on the wall.

3) Keep it High

If you’re having to wade through clothes and cleaning supplies to get to your washer and dryer, you want to think about clearing the floor. Install a few cabinets to store detergents, bleach, fabric softener, sheets and other resources.

4) Lint Collection

Make sure you have a small trash bin handy beside your drier to collect lint. You can even buy a mountable trash can to free up floor space.

5) Install a Clothes Line

Retractable clothes lines are a great way to do a little energy free, indoor drying. You can bring them out when you need them, and tuck them away when you don’t.
